I think you're all set. You're not far off the mark. I do think they will keep it around 20, for options expiration. However, an alternate scenerio would be that they could threaten to push it down to close it at 17.5.

It may be a false rally, but it doesn't feel like the other 22 false rallies we've seen in the last 3 months.

I took a ST trading position in MDCO with 2 buy/write hedges at 17.5 and 20, yielding 13.3 and 14.5 % return respectively for 4 and 2.5 weeks of time, respectively.
