I don't think it will hurt Cisco. This is one of the reasons Cisco did not implement fast Ethernet because of lack of good standards.

Depends how you look at it.

Most likely it could help CSCO since they don't have a Gig product yet, and the delay could make end users wait a little bit longer to deploy - therefore giving CSCO more time to do something/buy something.

Than again, people who want Gig are buying it now, since most vendors have promised to swap product if need be to conform to the Gig standard when the standard is done.
