The original 9/11 attacks were primarily made possible by incredibly weak air travel security in the United States. The U.S. adventure in Afghanistan was a fool's errand. There will likely be a civil war in Afghanistan for years, decades, or centuries. Let the countries on their border deal with it. The Biden Administration will focus on Afghanistan until more interesting disaster porn is shown on American TV, which may happen this weekend in the Gulf of Mexico and South Lake Tahoe, California.

The blast at Kabul airport late Thursday, which killed 13 U.S. service members and at least 60 Afghans, showed the world the terrorism risks emanating from Afghanistan as American troops prepare to leave next week. After the attack, President Joe Biden vowed to strike against the extremist group ISIS-K while explaining why the U.S. is cooperating with the Taliban on the evacuation. Blinken mentions ISIS-K and right on cue ISIS-K blows up airport, Taliban is claiming it lost 28 followers also. I had never heard of ISIS-K until 2 days ago, now it's a threat on par w/Spectre!!! It’s “in the interest of the Taliban that in fact ISIS-K does not metastasize beyond what it is,” Biden said when asked why the U.S. depended on its longtime adversary to secure the perimeter of the airport. He added: “It’s not a matter of trust -- it’s a matter of mutual self interest.” Asked later if U.S.-Taliban cooperation would continue beyond the evacuation, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said “I don’t want to get ahead of where we are.” Never trust ameriKKKa, never! The situation is awkward for both the U.S. and the Taliban. Each side wants to prevent Afghanistan from turning into a key staging ground for Islamic State fighters to plot global terrorist attacks, but they also find it politically unpalatable -- if not impossible -- to cooperate. For the U.S., the Taliban’s treatment of women and political opponents has spurred calls for diplomatic isolation and financial sanctions. Yet that only risks weakening the Taliban and emboldening rival Islamic extremists, undermining Biden’s claim that the U.S. accomplished its mission of rooting out terrorism in Afghanistan. Again never trust ameriKKKa, and as far as the "Woman and children" element, ameriKKKa drones weddings relentlessly and the Taliban seems to have good relation w/Russia, China. Islamic State Khorasan, a local franchise of the group in Iraq and Syria, was formed largely by defectors from the Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban, a U.S.-designated terrorist group dedicated to overthrowing Pakistan’s government. While ISIS-K was nearly wiped out by both U.S. and Taliban strikes, the group is estimated to have about 2,000 fighters. so it seems as if ameriKKKa and Taliban have already been working together, so why so much angst that the Taliban have done exactly was always going to happen, take back Afghanistan ISIS-K has been responsible for some of Afghanistan’s most lethal attacks in recent years, such as targeting schoolgirls, hospitals and even a maternity ward in Kabul, killing newly born babies and pregnant women. Change ISIS-K to ameriKKKa in above section and it's also correct. As for the rest of the BS article ameriKKKa had 20 years to fix Afghanistan, isn't that enough of a statement to show how inept ameriKKKa is. It was never about getting Bin Laden, it was a gravy train for the MIC/DHS/NSA/CIA and associates. BWTFDIK ;-) Bloomberg must always be read as state propaganda first, second and third. But as per usual w/state propaganda hints of truth are thrown in here and there

Here's another good take.....remember the war was all based on lies the same w/Iraq. Empty suit was elected to stop the war, get us out, and put the war criminals away. Within due course he struck out on all 3 counts and that's just the beginning of his failures counterpunch.org One snippet + Curtis LeMay wanted to bomb Vietnam into the Stone Age, “destroying every work of man.” HRC wanted to bomb Afghanistan into modernity, destroying every vestige of misogyny. The bombs fell for years until the US finally left. Amid ruins and graveyards, both nations remain culturally much the same, free to determine the shape of their own future. The US, however, is weaker now, morally, politically and internationally, than it has ever been.
