I ate a lot of rice when I was in the Pacific. I only recently found out that it has huge amounts of arsenic and other toxins in it. I always thought I was eating healthy because it was stir fry with lots of veggies. You can't win.

in time comes refinement..

I will say that I have enjoyed some of the best soups in the world.. creme of radish one of my favorites. had that in Handan.

I read all of Bob's posts.. & I was thinking, I'd pickle everything that was doable !! I've enjoyed pickled garlic.. probably I ate more in one place setting than in a normal 5yr span.
I like pickled potatoes, beets, carrots, onion.. anything pickled.

Here in the Balkans, I love pickled cabbage & beets on my kabobs.. the kabobs are like what we see as breakfast sausage. this inside a cut flatbread topped off in a little mustard.

the beer here is excellent.
the Croatian dry white wine

I'm still here..
