So... you think Islamic Fundamentalism was created by Americans ? Just sort of forgetting the Russians prior adventure in Afghanistan ? Or, the Brits > a 100 years before ? I think it a pretty deliberate fiction to pretend that's an issue that's new... or only about America... and only since the 1960s... but political partisans lying about what they know the truth is... All is does is lose you others respect.

I have personal knowledge as I traveled extensively in that area at that time. Iran with the Shah was westernized but as soon as Carter let the islamists take Americans as hostages, they took Iran back to the Stone Age. Afghanistan has always had the Burqa nearly everywhere except for a few nomadic women that dressed like Gypsies. Also fake news because it fails to mention the Soviets invaded before we did.
