I disagree as to the degree of blame. I could go into a longer spiel on how R. deregulation, repeal of the Glass Steagall Act for one. The so-called Blue Dog Democrat's that constantly and without fail, in the past undermined the D. party's Roosevelt wing, by voting with R. The R. wars of choice, their decades of dragging their feet on fixing our dilapidated infrastructure, preferring to spend money on military misadventures, insisting on spending cuts during an extreme recession inherited by Obama, from the Cheney/GW Bush administration. The R. ideology has done more to destroy the US than anything else. NAFTA's foundation was built in the Reagan administration, drawn up in the GHW Bush Administration and passed over the objections of the majority of D., by a blue dog Bill Clinton. Allowing China to join the WTO was again backed by R. and Bill Clinton but overall not backed by the majority of D. Ross Perot Independent said if NAFTA passed, you would hear a giant sucking sound of jobs leaving the US. He dropped out of the race because of threats to his family. Analyst found that he'd harm the R. party more than D. if he ran as a third party candidate,. This and more has been well documented in books, never mind that I that lived it in real time. Not liking the too liberal wing of the D., the too conservative wing of R. along with the Blue Dogs. I became an Independent after the first four years of B. Clinton, and remain so today. In the end there is only two to choose from. In Clinton vs GW Bush administrations, in most cases the difference was talk, their actions were mostly identical.
