The emergent element in the Western "exceptional" emergence from it... first in the enlightenment... finding fullest and best expression only in the "balance" attained in the wake of the American Revolution [ as America, alone, successfully exited from control by the monarchists "narrative"] ... not in the bloody French rendition... but in one adopting moral limits... which offers the only possible avenue of escape from history. What you argue... asserts that morality is bunk... and progress requires reversion to an animalistic amorality... that is purely soul-less and materialistic... which is the same argument made by the bankers... The advocates seeking to prevent "exceptionalism" creating any exceptions... HAVE TO BE advocating... that no change emerges and survives in the inexorable flow of history into more of the same ? From thousands upon thousands of years of proofs, all you see and learn is... the only path to enabling any difference from animalistic materialism... must be destroyed ? Which doesn't require overly simplistic minds looking for overly simplistic answers... will actually find them. But, they will find plenty of something in the way of substitutes on offer... You will be a slave... and like it... and DEMAND that you be allowed to be one... submitting yourself to others protection... while absolving yourself of responsibility... for yourself. But to accomplish that... you have to force me to submit to being a slave of the state, too ? But, that will never happen... Not ever... All hardcore leftists, and no small number in the parallel on the submissive capitalist/monarchist right... appear to be closet masochists... gladly seeking to inflict their source of gratification in the generalization of a form of sadism they intend will be inflicted on everyone... Or, budding closet sadists... hanging with their natural audience... No difference between communists and [capitalists and] kings... leaves only a revelation in the preference in the source of surrender of the obedient ... differing only in the offered brand of abuse preferred...
