Well, 30 years ago would make the trip like brand new. Nowadays, there is an emphasis on indigenous culture, you might consider that when you visit.... Down south is interesting, Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump has an interesting museum devoted to the buffalo jump, Fort Macleod is interesting as well as the Remington carriage museum at Cardston is well worth the trip.... then you have Waterton National park

There are lots of places to visit. :)

I have seen most of Canada... even to 50 miles north of the Arctic circle(on a drilling rig north of Tuktoyaktuk ) as an industrial salesman I traveled a lot but I have never been east of Montreal.
