Particularly interesting in light of Roy S. latest post:

where he points out that latency of < 2 microsecs is the key value.
This is also confirmed by the CERN reference (Silkworm test) where they concluded "The switch transfers class 2 and class 3 frames and shows a very small delay which is of the order of 2 ms. No bandwidth limitation is observed. In fact, it turns out that the pairs of host computer and FC/PCI cards are the bottlenecks for the transfers."
