The tech. in press release is designed to give the cust. access to data not easily retrieved but much sought after. One example of this is to record bottom hole pressure below a closed valve at or near the reservoir, thus eliminating well bore storage effects caused by having to fill up the mile or more of pipe in the hole. This will shorten the build up time required and allow for the openning and closing of the well repeatedly by remote access at surface while gathering the data on surface. This is just one example of the application of this tech. Being able to inflate packers remotely can be used with coil tubing to isolate and trouble shoot horizontal wells that are not reacting as they should.(ie. increase in water flow- where is it coming from and can it be shut off.
