Maybe I'm missing something, but I see no reason to own VZ (or T) instead of BCE. Maybe in addition to.
Yield:
VZ-4.54%
BCE -5.31% (no foreign tax withheld in an IRA)
T- 7.65%
YTD performance comparison(27% difference)
I've argued all along that BCE seems to have figured out what neither VZ or T was able to accomplish and both have failed miserably trying.
