When you see tons of sells, i.e. lots of orders going through at the bid and the price remaining really stable/not dropping more than 1/32 or 1/16 as you pointed out, this means that somebody or several somebodies are accumulating shares as fast as people are willing to sell them to them at the accumulator(s) price. That is a very bullish sign in my opinion. Also look for large blocks going through at prices below the bid (trades between market makers in advance of an intraday move up).
