What you say holds true for all of Far East and much of the rest of the world. Being "inclusive" is mostly a New World thing, and even they are not very good at it. Not being inclusive is a self correcting process as everyone has something to offer that raises the collective above sum of its parts - and societies that heed that message end up outperforming the rest. America is an example of that.

Sounds like Japan... but yes I see that.. OTOH .. look at the HUGE number of Africans in China learning and speaking perfect Mando !!! You are describing a grassroots prejudice endemic to most countries ... I experienced that growing up.. grade kindergarten to 3 at a Chinese Catholic Mission school in Montreal Chinatown slum... I Look white... was VERY problematic... Out of school as family had solid biz employing many in the hood.. I ran errands for old dudes... I was accepted grudgingly due to family prominence ..spoke some Canto and Taishan sparingly LOl but enough ... No one spoke Mandarin then... Life is what you make it
