Alibaba and Tencent are headed for the dumpster. Okay, maybe not the dumpster, but their extravagant advantages are history.

These two pieces must be read together. The first is the main piece by the author; the second is an explainer.

Chinese stocks are in trouble because Xi is pursuing a new but obvious political strategy which cannot be reconciled with made-in-China billionaires. Hence, shorting China’s big stocks, consistent with this strategy is likely to be very profitable.

In other words, neither the white cat nor the black cat to be fattened. The day will belong to the scrawny, ignored mouse. But there is no profit in him, though he is allowed to live and thrive, sort of.

Geopolitically, very dire for West and our utterly dumb/stupid ways. Electing incompetent doddering old fools President is the equivalent of corrupt old Romans marrying their favorite horses.
Main piece is long but is a fantastic. Here it is:

The explainer:

Enjoy.
