Thanks Little Engine, That just helps to prove the point, that the Bank must see something very good in FAMH. Apparently they think the stock is good collateral and that FAMH WILL make good on their debts.

Little Engine, One thing that I have not mentioned before, is that I also have a background in finance. It has been quite a few years ago, as I have worked for myself for a long time now.

I have worked with construction and mortgage loans, both commercial and residential. Before you even accept a loan package you always pre-qualify a client, you do not want to waste your time and their time and money processing something that you think is not likely to be approved by the underwriter.

Banks scrutinize applicants very careful. They of course have to meet certain standard qualification to enable the bank to re-sell the loans, if they choose to do so. But the primary reason for the careful scrutiny, is that they DO NOT want to have to foreclose on properties . That is NOT what they are in business to do.

When someone is approved for a loan, it is because they appear to be a good risk. They appear to have the capability to re-pay the loan. That is why I say the credit facility must see something very good in FAMH.

And by the way, if a 70 year has a large enough pension, it is not really that hard for them to obtain a mortgage loan. It is illegal to discriminate based on age.
