I don't think doubling down on a losing hand is a good strategic move.

I agree that the Republican politicians are much better in long-term planning for getting reelected. But as far as the country is concerned, I would not call them visionaries or even as people with vision.

The Daily Show once showed clips of GOP platform announcements going back to before the contract with America. Nothing had changed in the talking points. That is not what being a visionary is like.

PS Being an equal opportunity dissident is reflected in my having equal number of ignores from both sides. If a person is a strong partisan, then I am more than likely to eventually annoy them enough to win an ignore. It does not matter which party they belong to.

PPS Yes, I am an equal opportunity dissident. But now I am really going to stop this line of conversation.

Amen, To Right or Wrong.

> Republicans tend to be longer term visionaries. Right or wrong, they put policies/strategies in place with a long term goal in mind.<

To this day as I walk out to check my mailbox I always glance upward to see if the promise the original republican God made ( not the new republican God) that trickle down economics would help us all. 50 years and 2 skin cancer surgery's later nothing yet. But I now wear a hat, sunglasses, and sunblock when I make the mail run and do my glance upward.
