I had a cucumber and half a red pepper for breakfast this morning. I had a piece of pita bread and hummus for lunch. I think I made 5-lbs. of hummus the other day for $3.00 or less. You can find it for $2.49 for 6-oz at grocery stores, so it cost me 90% less to make it myself, and it tasted better as well.

Too bad you aren't close by. I'm drowning in zucchini and winter squash. Our garden is going full bore. I'm eating 3-4 cantaloupe a day and giving a bunch away. I loaned out my gooseneck trailer and now a week later I have watermelon, cantaloupe and squash sprouting up where it was parked. I guess squirrels dragged some under it to eat and dropped seeds. Guess I'll be getting a second crop this fall.
