About the LAPD having an interview card requesting among other things...a person's Social Security number, and saying there is a federal law requiring they provide it..

I recall on the Social Security cards back in the 50s/60s saying NOT TO BE PROVIDED FOR IDENTIFICATION....But I don't think it says that anymore

A lawyer in the article is saying they've not seen a federal law stating it must be provided to local police.

I don't plan on telling them mine, if ever asked.
