My wife and I love Columbo, we watch it most evenings before falling asleep. It’s so classic when he walks away from the murdered, they’re relieved, and he’s almost out the door and he turns and says”one more thing that’s bothering me, …” the murdered gets worried and knows he made a mistake.

The stars that usually play the murderer are fun. We just saw a very young Kim Cattrail , years before she played Sex in the City.

And the style of the story is interesting, you see the whole murder at the beginning of the show, you know who the murderer is. The suspense is how will Columbo figure it out.

The Ruth Gordon episode was very good. Not only did he sympathize with the murderer Ruth Gordon, you are left with the impression he was going to let her get away with it, because she killed someone that murdered her favorite niece. Columbo knew the police should have caught the first murder and he let her take the law into her own hands. Well written story.
