TideGlider,Re:"Very few people were confused by that. It was all in
writing. The upgrades and positive outlook for the future sparked the rally. The rally
started before the incorrect report. No connection"

Glad to see that you aren't confused. I am. Here is a paste from Cymer's web site this morning:

"We currently expect that the investments needed to fund these critical future-oriented efforts, coupled with the anticipated revenue decline, will reduce our quarterly earnings by $0.10 - $0.15 per share in the first quarter of 1998, as compared to our just announced fourth quarter."

This is Cymer's announcement not Reuter's. So what do you think earnings will be next quarter? 15% off or $.15 off? I sold half my position due to the uncertainty and due to the fact that the confusion itself shows that Cymer still hasn't figured out how to communicate to its investors.

I agree, and lets not ignore the tsunami of fund money flowing into all tech stocks. Many boats are lifting on this tide. AMAT earnings are next week I believe. It seems to be losing momentum? I am concerned that this is the begining of the anxiety of this quarter earnings anxiety. Maybe a pull back in next few weeks ? Any thoughts?
