I just shorted a huge position between 23 and 23 1/2..

No company is going to offer 2 billion dollars for netscape,
they simply dont have assets that are worth that much.

What's going to happen is that netscape will get an offer
for around 15 dollars a share, and the two parties will
agree to let the hype die down until the share price is
at 15 or a little below, then announce the deal.

As soon as today's frenzy settles down, I expect to see the
stock trading back at 20 by market close.

Why would _anyone_ pay 2 billion for netscape? Hell,
they already announced they are giving away the source
code for their number one product..

Every tech company that collapses always has buyout rumors.
That's rule #2 of the market. Rule #1 is don't believe
rumors.

<<<< Keep in mind aapl and asnd when rumors about takeovers surface.

...i did the same thing! could not resist from 19 to 23 in one day--with uncertainty on the horizon.

...who knows what kind of offer this could be. i got nervous with the 1.5 bil mkt cap and sunw being a noted cheapskate with nscp begging to be bought.

.....we think alike.
