things look like they may be heating up....turnaround at United Tri-Star

I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Sharp last year. Nice man, excellent CEO, intelligent deal maker and extensive heavy oil experience. It's unfortunate that Solv-Ex couldn't make a deal with him.

Everyone should check out the NASDAQ proposed changes in listing and quotation requirements.

The proposed new initial and continuing listing requirements are summarized at:

financialweb.com

The proposed new quotation requirements for non-listed stocks are at:

nasdr.com

Re: the quotation requirements for non-listed stocks. Subject to a 10 day grace period, no NASD member would be allowed to quote a price for any security that was not current on SEC filings. There also seems to be a proposed phase-in period of up to one year for current BB stocks.

From an e-mail someone forwarded me:

"The NASD's Board of Governors approved a series of proposed changes for OTC stocks and the OTC Bulletin Board. NASD Regulation is currently seeking comments from the public on these proposals. If you have any opinions on the proposals, now is the time to let the NASD know. The comment period only lasts until February 16, 1998 so there's not much time left." The proposals are at:
