The official position is that just some houses will get covered in lava flows, and apart from spectacular firework show, all will be good. Residents have been evacuated from the danger area.

If the side of the Island did collapse it's game over for Island residents.

In tenerife, about +20 minutes, they would have to get above 400m fast. The island is mountainous, so should be doable if a person has transport and awareness of the situation.

Hopefully all passes quietly, but I think a state of preparedness is warranted.

West coast USA is plus 6 hours. UK, about the same. looks as if plus 25 meters above mean sea level ground is suitable in the UK, East East USA maybe double that.
