First 56k standard now Gigabit standard. Why is COMS the only networking company stuck in this quagmire of standards? Because their PR sucks. As far as I can remember the gigabit standard was slated for mid-98 (thats when Cisco said they would come out with their GE produts, after the standard was set). We have seen that 3Com does not do much with an early lead so why bother even if the standard was set today and they had products ahead of Cisco ?
Its how the Layer 3 switches are doing that I am concerned about because they can steal business away from routers. GE is another alternative for LAN ATM and Fore is the major player there.

We are nearing the end of Quarter. This is the time to see any insider activity or news leaks. Price drops are no good news.
We are also entering the warning period in two weeks.
Let's hope this is not another trend.
