Gimme Space...management, management, management...as we predicted...

Alpha Software's Gimme Space Shatters Record for
Downloads on ZDNet's Launchpad Site

"...Gimme Space -- its breakthrough disk utility, which enables users to increase hard disk space at the touch of a button -- has become the most successful download ever offered on ZDNet's Launchpad Web site (http://www.hotfiles.com/lpad/lpad.html). Gimme Space posted record-shattering numbers in the first two days of the promotion. In less than one week, the product was downloaded by more than three times as many users as the next most-popular utility program on Launchpad -- and that product had been available for downloading over a two-month period. Columnist and industry pundit Jesse Berst, who writes ''Berst Alert'' for the ZD AnchorDesk site, featured the download as a ''white hot exclusive'' pick of the day, which is believed to have helped boost site traffic..." We predicted this [on this thread] upon Alpha's announcement of its alliance with PGSoft. Look at PGSoft's management/products at pgsoft.com That's where the real story and SWEBF/SKI PGSoft strategic alliance present value is...

That's a great bit of news Wendy. I wonder if anyone into technical analysis is watching SWEBF. I imagine it is off many radar screens. If indicators turn positive I will be all over this one. Gimme Space sounds like another cool product that users will be willing to pay up for. This is a good philosophy. Working with computers creates a set of a few common problems. Programs which help to make working with balky hardware more 'seamless and transparent', in other words, help people to work the way they want to work, rather than the way the hardware tells them to work.

I hope Alpha can continue to deliver products like this.

If they can survive financially, this should be a successful turnaround. Great free publicity from ZDNet, should feed on itself, giving the co. plenty of exposure in trade mags.
