George ---- No I never worked in the automotive division .I started as a welder on the Euclid trucks until J.F K. put the screws to GM for monopolizing, they sold the eucs then we started theTerex division using all our expertise gained from the locomotive production as well as the eucs,, I was on the welding team that built the first150 ton diesel electric truck in 1970,, then part of the team that built the 350 toner in 1972., we only built one, , Arnold Palmer played golf in it at the Las Vegas show that year , It was leesed to a mining co. out in BC ,, I believed it was the best truck we ever built but the market didnt think so..It had the locomotive engine ,with four traction motors on dual axles,I have the model here on my desk in front of me,, after that I spent my years on the locomotive production , big money 2-4 million each at two per day ,,kept us on the jump then we gained a contract through gm for armed vehicles ifor the US marines, Still running 1.5 locos, and two av s per day ,The AV, about 1 million each and the locos , with all the new AC technology. about 4million, ,,lots of training spare parts and all ,, sure was an interesting place to work, all in our little plant in London Ont.... I did own a 1957 belair four door ;327 --four barrel carbs automatic trany electric widows, what a car I took my young family for a tour of California, 1963 those were the good days,,SAM
