We humans have a fatal flaw of too often not being able to change our minds over pre conceived ideas.

A perfect example I see on Democratic threads is the idea we should compromise with "moderates", Manchin and the Republicans on the 3.5 trillion reconciliation package.

What I have never seen anyone point out is that it was Obama going along with the "moderates' and compromising with the Republicans that had a lot to do with how we lost the House and Senate, and put us in the defensive position we now find ourselves.

Everyone now admits his stimulus package was too small, and is WHY Biden is sticking to the 3.5 trillion!

Had Obama, who entered with control of both houses done what the progressives wanted, which was a robust stimulus package, like free pre school and community colleges, etc, the Democrats could have run on those things, but his stimulus was so small it took too long to kick in and did not stand out.

In fact that is why the Republicans refuse to help us now, because they know if we pass it the dems will benefit next year.

koan... I think it deplorable...in its execution... however it is typical... but Mr. Biden is right... Americans in general just do not give a (choose your epithet) about the Afghanis...

What's on sale at Wally Mart is more important...

I had much chat with Jamie on FAMD on this topic... He was euphemistic as in Mr. Biden has support... never saying the obvious.. Americans DO NOT CARE in general ...at least NOT majority DEM or GOP

ONE US service person dying is HUGE in America... 10s of thousands of Afghans tortured and murdered .. does not rate... could be 100s of thousands... LibCon Dem Gop... most simply dot care.. do not care if many died because of phony US promises.. It is a broken record.. done many times... folks on the ground care.. (service folk) but not the public...

Biden's choice was politically expedient ... and all about the mid terms... honour etc do not count :)

Although the Fox pretend biz channel will try and keep it alive... whistling in the wind
