One of the classic mistakes in research, and even the quantities referred too are correct still it has little relevance to the fact that the petrochemical industry including G&O took the earth environment out of balance that was achieved over millions of years. True dead wood bark and wood waste release substantial amounts of GHG and also substantial nutrients to the forest soil, but the original academic paper is slightly different. I know a lot about this subject and one can read my 11 year old white paper on the subject at this site slideshare.net Bottom line is just an incendiary article to cover up the polluting O&G industry as the results are meaningless to the earth environment.
