I have spent a career using analogies - I'm trying to connect the dots and am sincere about my confusion - some people really hate crypto and think it is a con - it could be but so were savings and loans - my mother-in-law was wiped out from that. What is precisely the objection to bitcoin relative to a search engine which also provides a thing of value at high energy cost? Please, I'd be willing to "debate" it but I have to understand the governing principle that makes bitcoin so objectionable BESIDES the amount of energy. It will get more efficient or it will be replaced by alternatives. Gold is very energetic. Right now it is under 1% of my net worth. I don't "love it" or "tout it". I'm diversifying and speculating.
