I see it as a bug. I'd love to see a Reality TV Survival type show explore this. Two groups on Two Island. One develops a monetary system predicated on least effort, the other does it on maximum effort. I'd have all their energy be electricity powered by human pedal power. So on one island, for their monetary system to work, xx% of the pedal power goes to coin mining, thus siphoning it off of irrigation pumps, sewing machines, whatever. Which economy do you think will grow faster?
