Blockchain is just a DB technology ... a distributed DB that is fraud-resistant . And computationally inefficient, which you left out. That is what I'm bitching about. The Evangelists for BC never point to hard metrics which show why it should be superior. There are all sorts of methods used for cybersecurity, BC is just one such, and it has +'s and -'s. What it does have going for it is the "open" and "transparent" nature of a "public ledger" and this has A HUGE APPEAL to a certain political mindset, and they then think this makes it God's gift to humans. But so far, there are very few useful applications of it, despite years of hype, other than the coin craze. That says something about how useful it actually is. Why haven't most DB's shifted to it if its so great?
