Dirk, Got to agree on Wingate, but as you say it's pretty much limited to two systems as a general rule. I use Compatible Systems MicroRouter 900i as an Internet / WAN router and have found it to be much easier and simpler to use than a standard Cisco router for dedicated Internet work with multi work station. Per Compatible Systems: The MicroRouter 900i is specifically designed to be the ideal router for small office or home office connection to the Internet. It provides connection flexibility so that you can start with a low-speed modem configuration and upgrade to higher speed lines as you grow, without replacing the router itself. The MicroRouter 900i comes ready to connect to a thick, thin, or 10BaseT Ethernet network and provides one high-speed RS-232C sync/async WAN port which may be operated at rates up to 128 Kbps over a standard phone line, ISDN, leased line, or Frame Relay connection. The MicroRouter 900i efficiently allows shared Internet access for everyone on a network, rather than having individual connections from each machine. The MicroRouter 900i supports the TCP/IP network protocol as well as the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP) and Frame Relay wide area transport protocols. I'm not dealer or related to C.S., but have three of their routers set up and compared to the old router programing for a WAN (Wide Area Network) connected to the Internet they have been great. Of course the cost is a bit more than Wingate at $700.00, but I can set up a 16 port network (14 work stations, 1 shared printer and server) with no problems and have it configured and running on the Net in less than a day.
