CNBC had a nice write up on Manchin before infrastructure was a big issue and they claim he talks to the Koch Network regularly. He knows he won't get one penny from the Democrat Party so he needs guarantees from the other side if he wants to win reelection in four years. Looking at Manchin's poll numbers are down right horrible. Take away republicans who support him (because they want to cripple Biden) and he's toast. I'd guarantee it that few republicans will vote for him over a republican. Btw, Dems are up by 4% in polls over who should control Congress in the latest poll, even with this mess. That's down right shocking. Doing something hard is what historians record and this is hard.
