I understand your argument but here's why I think it misses the boat. If you give red states a choice between doing nothing (conservatives) and doing almost nothing (moderates) they might choose moderates once in awhile, but what if we give them a third choice?

We find out what they want and then do something about it. This means a full throttle ad campaign telling them exactly what we'll do to fix their issue. Instead, we do nothing, depend on a few states for power and then let moderates destroy our entire agenda and then our majority. We do this over and over until the Squad came alone. They forced Biden and Pelosi to link the first bill to the second and they forced moderates to back down (this is a done deal...give them time to lick their wounds).

Again, imagine a massive stimulus bill under Obama, instead something so small it'd do almost nothing. The moderate way is so batcrap crazy that it's nothing more than conservatism (giving the rich our money).

You know republican governors will brag about money we gave them. They get all the credit and none of the burdens of governing. Why should they change?
