I suppose it's more a matter of voting against someone (the system)
than for someone (Trump).
There are a lot of folks who can't see the damage Trumpism can & has

done. Voting for him or DeSantis is their personal blow against the empire.

Right. He said he had decided that real wars were when you went in to win, defeated the enemy then
came home. Any thing else was 'political'. Of course this doesn't account for nuclear weapons changing the threshold for 'total war'.
But it was not a subject we discussed for long. This was in northern Wisconsin. When additional visitors
came to the house, the discussion quickly moved on to best ways to cook bear meat...
Trump and his ilk have just honed in on that general distrust of government and milked it.
