Ron, Apology accepted -- and please accept an apology in advance if my tone to you in my most recent post was snappish.

Actually, I have no "calls" in the sector other than liking the offshore companies (I'm into ESV and GLM) and the builders (I'm in VRC) based on what I've read about the fundamentals of the business.

VRC is my longest (and most profitable) holding in the sector. I get the feeling (although I don't know enough to justify it), that there is not much to distinguish the players in the group. That is, they almost behave like a commodity.

I got very twitchy during the last couple of months, seeing ESV and VRC each drop about 50%, but since I saw no objective reason for the precipitous drop (just as I saw no objective reason for the huge run-up during the early fall), I decided that the most prudent course was to ignore the stock market. So, all I can do is to caution you to exercise patience. If you have invested in a well-diversified portfolio of stocks with solid long-term growth potential you will come out OK if you don't succumb to the madness of trading every point.

Regards, and good luck

Paul
