Do you know and understand more than Dr. Christ does?

I understand that the New Testament writers were themselves Jewish, and that therefore their use of the term "the Jews" can't have a racial meaning. That's simple logic, so I guess I do know more than the illogical Dr Christ does. Your turn to try to rescue her foolish statement if you can.

If we cannot consider Dr. Hakeem's ideas because he is NOT a peer-reviewed expert writing in his field, incidentally, and yet Dr. Christ IS, and you do not agree with her, what does that logically tell us about how we weigh opinions? Does it mean that only you are correct, or does it perhaps suggest that citing a peer-reviewed expert is only convenient if that scholar supports certain views?

Nope. More bad logic. Having a degree doesn't confer freedom from error on Dr Christ. Dr Christ can be argued against by simple logic or by citing other authorities. This does nothing to rescue Hakeem from the pool of non-authorities, where he resides with you and me.

-Dr. Hakeem and Dr. Christ seem to have the upper hand in the debate.

The answer to that is, and let me quote: Boy, I am getting confused or something!!!

Certainly, you need somehow to explain the widespread collusion by Protestants and Catholics in Europe in the Holocaust in SOME way,

Not to mention the agnostics and atheists who embraced the Third Reich. It's called fallen human nature, and is described at the beginning of Genesis.

I would be the first to admit that I am not any kind of scholar when it comes to the Bible,

Then what are you doing hailing Hakeem as a scholar on the subject? You have no background from which to judge his writing.

Sorry, CGB, but Christ and Hakeem aren't saying the same thing at all. Not even close. Hakeem seeks to "prove" that National Socialist genocide proceeded out of the thought of Martin Luther. Christ quite correctly claims that Christians turned against the Jews very early on and maintained an anti-semitic stance until modern times. This is not exactly an original thesis, however; one wonders why she bothers even to advance it. The primary sources--early and later Christian writings--speak for themselves. What, though, can one expect of a person who's collaborated on a book called "Womanspirit Rising"? My God. Yale Divinity ain't everything.
