Ed, Maybe it is because of this announcement. biz.yahoo.com Fingerprint technology AND pay per view championship boxing. Now why didn't Randy think of that. Seriously, Sackman has what all the other worms coming out of the wood have, many hopes and wishes, but poor sales and technology. IMHO it was only a matter of time, and it is hard to believe it took this long. But then others are still holding their breath, and they have been under water a long time.

$870 million Argentina ID Contract

According to an article on the Bloomberg this afternoon, Siemens and their partners - Printrak & Boldt SA of Argentina - have apparently won a contract to prepare identity cards for Argentina's 35 million inhabitants. These cards would cost each person about $30 including the 21% VAT.

Printrak's portion is estimated to be $40 to $60 million over 4 years. Printrak will definitely supply the AFIS and probably the livescanners.

This would be the largest AFIS in the world.

Identix is not believed to be involved in the bidding.
