I haven't received 1099's from any funds I invested in and the brokerage firm breaks down taxable income for the IRS. I don't do my taxes, I have a CPA that handles that so I can't answer tax questions. All I know is that muni-bond income funds generate Federal tax free money.

If you own a MA muni-bond fund, you may also be exempt from state taxes, but you'll need to look that up.
