Interesting that some countries are giving out ivermectin to their citizens (not verified but heard elsewhere) and others like Singapore's Straits Times sent this out today:
Dear ST reader,

A 65-year-old grandmother was hospitalised after taking ivermectin, an anti-parasitic drug. She took the drug on the urging of her friends who told her it protected her from Covid-19. Now, the Health Sciences Authority is investigating the illegal sale and supply of ivermectin here. Self-medicating with ivermectin is dangerous and the drug can be prescribed by doctors only for the purpose of treating parasitic worm infections, it has warned.

But as the incident shows, despite warnings from experts, unsubstantiated beliefs that ivermectin can cure Covid-19 still hold strong. Infectious diseases specialist Leong Hoe Nam says large Telegram chat groups encouraging the use of ivermectin make him worried and he urged their members to exercise discernment.

Meanwhile, a law against foreign interference was endorsed after a 10-hour debate in Parliament this week. It aims to tackle foreign meddling in domestic politics conducted through the use of local proxies and hostile information campaigns. Several unfamiliar terms came up during the debate. ST explains these.

Thank you for reading this week’s stories. Stay safe and have a good weekend.

One reason the left legalized abortions is they said too many women were dying from illegal abortions. I wonder if they would give ivermectin proper consideration and clear advice for the same reason...
