Definitions 17 and 18 for thing from dictionary.com: 17. a topic, behavior, or activity involving or limited to a specified group: It’s a girl thing, so you wouldn’t understand. 18. Informal. something that people do (often used in expressions of mild disapproval or mockery): Since when did clapping at the end of a movie become a thing? Imagine my further shock to find out that Wikipedia, now solidly in control of the extreme, far left nonsense crowd, is in control of what are "things" and what are just words that mean nothing! Wikipedia has not been designated the authority. It just has standards that apply. Just like a dictionary has not been designated the authority. Its structure is a taxonomy that reflects what is.
