RE: SyQuest's New Ad Agency.

Gary,

>> Bozell Worldwide, Silicon Valley. (who'll take payment in stock, no doubt) <<

They're the firm behind the "milk mustache" ads. Seems like a pretty good choice for SyQuest. I doubt they'll take payment in stock, however.

Didn't SyQuest just switch firms a few months ago? Seems strange to be switching again so soon. Would that indicate an unsuccessful advertising campaign with their old company? I kinda thought their radio ads were halfway decent.

>> SyQuest Technology, Inc. has shipped more than 17 million cartridges <<

Yes, they've been reporting cartridges shipped for well over a year now. At first, they put the number of drives, too, but it never changed. It was stuck at 3 or 4 million or something like that. Note also that those figures are total for the entire 15-20 year existence of SyQuest. They just recently crossed the 17 million cartridge milestone. They were at 16 million for quite a while--seems like 6-8 months or longer.

The fact that those milestones aren't moving is enough evidence for me that nothing has fundamentally changed with SyQuest (at least not for the better) in the past several years.

Personally, I am glad to see Syquest changing ad agencies.

I've heard enough of the SparQ ads on the radio that they were beginning to make me nervous.

They seemed effective to me, and I would just as soon see them dropped. (selfish, aren't I?)
