We don't need abstract thinkers at all levels. I've literally dug sewer lines out - so I'm no elitist. There are people who are just good at doing things - whether it is cooking or sawing a log - and are happy doing what they need to do. Give them a solid process and they will follow it. What we do on this thread - is not what most people do - we "overthink things". I used a different vocabulary on the shop floor than I did in the conference room. Over-educating people on topics they won't need will be met with both resentment and mockery. But giving them a good basic understanding of bullshit and how con artists work would be useful.
