I first came across the 'Nixon' analogy in an essay by Jean-Paul Sartre about Vietnam...I think it can be found in a compilation called "between nothingness & Existentialism", but the comparison of Nixon to these guys has been common-place over many a cup of coffee in many a cafe'.
Regardless....I can understand how some may find that comparison disturbing...and Kennedy or LBJ's roles are not significant to the 'acts' Nixon was responsible for, or the 'context' of our discussion.
Joe, I'm sure you don't think my 'beliefs' on world affairs, or any of this off-topic rhetoric has anything to do with a stock-pick...

LBJ accelerated the war. To a half million men. Nixon did the bombing and began the withdrawal.
