We have greatly underestimated the true capabilities of our species, and especially the academics have.

All their stupid tests, which UC Berkeley just dropped.

There is no fucking "college material". The entire human species for all practical purposes is college material.

What there is, is a lack of interest in developing our capabilities.

In the book:' The Birth of Korea Cool" she says she can have a conversation with you for 30 minutes and repeated it back verbatim.

Who knew the average person could learn to do that? Many kids can in Korea.

In India, people learn to recite the entire Vedic bible which is longer than our bible.

I attended a community college, a state college and a top university and saw no difference in the students capability, and in fact no difference than my high school friends.

I have spent a life time studying how the great minds think, and what they think, and they are just normal people who apply themselves..

<,

To put a fine point on it: Your phraseology ("knowledge directed perception") is going to put you at a disadvantage - half the students don't have the cognitive ability to parse subtle nuance. The term "bullshit" (or "garbage" in more polite company) is sufficient. This video is non-technical but my daughter confirmed this was confirmed in her studies of "Psychology of Design" at UC Davis.
