Thomas I think all these companies are basically in degrees of trouble. Seen from a contrarian point of view this would in fact be the time to buy this sector. Don't you think? As a point of perspective I want to post you the following. It appeared on the Yahoo board yesterday and it deals with customer satisfaction amongst other things.

Another point in October the New Jersey state authoritiy (I think) did a survey of customer satisfaction with HMO's. Oxford was the top one or two out of 13 companies involved in the state.

"Your giving the impression that Oxford has more serious problems than other carriers. I would for a very large company who offers many different types of health insurance carriers to choose from both large and small.

Through a previous employer, for two years I was a member of Oxford and a frequent user of the network. All my experiences with Oxford were good. Because I was also a stockholder I checked frequently to make sure all my bills were paid and never had a problem. I even asked my doctors what they thought and the replies were always in favor.

Now I work for a company which does not have Oxford as part of the employees health choice. The some of insurance carriers
they deal with are Cigna, Aetna, US Healthcare, Community Healthcare of MA, Healthsource, Humana and the list goes on. Currently,
I am part of Cigna and for the 14 years which I have had insurance through my place of employ I have never had a worse
experience. I am given inaccurate information consistently. I have had to file verbal appleals to claims for which I was told I was
covered only to find out that I was given inaccurate information.
I have fellow employees who deal with the other carriers that my companies offer and they are having similiar experiences. One is with US Healthcare and a frequent user of the plan with two young children and she is battling over unpaid bills.

So your perception that Oxford has more service problems than others is way out of line. If you think Oxford is so bad why
don't you help your clients get into one of the other plans since you think that the grass is greener on the other side of the
fence.

You may find your eyes opened to the real truth that all heathcare provider have its own set of servicing problems.

Sometimes its not the provider but the employer who sets up restrictions in a contract with the healthcare provider which in the long run serves the employer best interest. They choose restrictions which result in less cost out the companies pocket per employee
instead of choosing options which serve the employees best interests.
