Don: The studies quoted by Cardiomedics are without
exception studies performed by Vasomedicals EECP
device or by earlier equipment prior to its refinement
in China. Cardiomedics has NO data to date with which
to prove its equipment can match Vasomedical's. While
they might argue that counterpulsation is counterpulsation there is adequate reason to be skeptical. For example, a major component of EECP is
systolic unloading which is performed in different ways
by the two machines. I suggest that one be very wary of
Cardiomedic's claims until they have adequate data. Whatever you feel about Vaso and their lack of responsiveness to you inquiries, one cannot deny the
fact that they are being methodically scientific about
their studies. There is a meticulous data base being
coordinated through the U.of Pittsburgh at present. Until
Cardiomedics can match this scientific approach, I
intend to be skeptical.
