In the conf. call Irv said that PCS sales in the US are weighted towards the low-end, low margin phones. This is interesting and inconsistent with Sprint PCS announcing that average PCS monthly bills are $20 more than the average cellular bill. Irv also said they had much more inventory of the Q phones than they wanted. I suppose the early adopters of PCS are already lugging around an original QCOM phone, and the Q phones would have sold well if they had been there at the onset of PCS service in each market.

Well, I believe the market as a whole is really overbought right now. The Asian Flu effects are just being felt, remember the LOR satellite order cancellation and 300-person layoff last week? Just because the Won and the Asian markets are picking up, it doesn't mean the average Joe over there has immediately started spending again. The typical Asian saves much more than the average American and they are going to reinforce that habit during these trying times. Thus consumption will be way down there for several quarters, if not years... IMHO, of course.

Sprint/PrimeCo sales of Q-phones hasn't been doing well. I mentioned this two weeks ago.

QCOM problems in the H/S market are multi-fold, one of which is Samsung's attack in the US.

When I mentioned it as a short on Monday on another thread some people on this thread called me "uninformed". Better be called uninformed than broke, if you ask me.
