I'm thinking that the whole supply chain problem is going to hurt the tech group in general, this explains why they were so weak today... I suspect we could continue to see things get worse as we move towards year end... I just don't think the Christmas season is going to be all that jolly due to more and more aggravated supply chain issues... There may be a global semiconductor shortage, but with consumer confidence at a 20 year low and with the economy not improving, I think consumer demand will also be low... As of this writing, there's more than $28 billion worth of consumer cargo stuck off shore off California... Retail stores are not going to advertise to sell items they don't have in stock and are unable to get in time, so they'll slow down their ads... This is a chain reaction and will likely hurt the tech group in general... A record number of cargo chips are at anchor off California and anchor to dock time is now a record 13 day wait... They use to just sail in and dock and unload without any anchor time at all... It use to take 3 days to unload, now it takes 8 days to unload... Winter good won't reach the stores until the weather gets warmer, and then people won't need those winter goods, so stores will have to sell them at discount... I could go on, but I think you get the picture, it really doesn't look pretty... All of this is likely to have some impact on these markets, it hit the tech group today... GZ
