Neil Cavuto implores viewers to get vaccinated after breakthrough COVID-19 case BY DOMINICK MASTRANGELO - 10/24/21 Fox News host Neil Cavuto, in his first television interview since announcing he had tested positive for COVID-19, urged all Americans to receive a coronavirus vaccination in order to keep themselves and others safe. "For god's sake, think of the bigger picture here, get outside yourself and think about those you work with, those around you, think about keeping them safe," Cavuto said during an appearance on Fox News' MediaBuzz. "These breakthrough cases are overwhelmingly happening among immunocompromised individuals like myself." Cavuto, who has been open about his health struggles with multiple sclerosis, is fully vaccinated and announced on Tuesday he and his wife had both tested positive for the virus. "While I'm somewhat stunned by this news, doctors tell me I'm lucky as well," Cavuto said in a statement shared with The Hill at the time of his diagnosis. "Had I not been vaccinated, and with all my medical issues, this would be a far more dire situation. It's not, because I did and I'm surviving this because I did." Cavuto said he understands where people who are resistant to vaccine mandates "are coming from," but urged them to "take the political speaking points and toss them." "This is not about left or right, this is not about conservative or liberal," he said. "Last time I check everyone regardless of their political persuasion is coming down with this." Cavuto said he was feeling "better" on Sunday and he and his wife have been taking a monoclonal antibody treatment "for conditions like mine." Cavuto said his coronavirus diagnosis does make him "a changed person." "I don't look at things through a political spectrum, down to all of my shows, I don't have time for that. Life's too short to be an ass," he said. "Life is way too short to be ignorant of the promise of something that is helping people worldwide. Stop the deaths. Stop the suffering. Please get vaccinated. Please."
